Something big is just around the corner….RP Lister.

I can’t say too much, but we’re very pleased to advise that RP Data’s listing presentation tool for ipad will be released to the Apple App Store very shortly.

RP Lister is RP Data’s new pre listing presentation app which helps sales agents and vendors to interact in a number of conversations about the property and the local market.

We also help vendors position their property so they arrive at the right listing price. Agents (if they choose) can use the PriceSetter (TM) conversation and request their vendor to rate their own property in comparison to other listings and sales around them (also selected by the agent).

Then, when all is said and done, there’s also a “Send Email” report that summarises the sales agent’s conversation with the vendor.

The whole RP Lister project has been pretty secret squirrel as several patents have now been submitted for this app, its methodologies and its component technologies.  So a big thank you must go to the huge team of devoted staff and vendors who have all worked so tirelessly to help us to deliver it.

You’ll find it’s a very flexible app.  We make sure that agents remain in control of the messaging every step of the way.  Agents decide which conversations they wish to have (or not have) when presenting to their vendor.

We hope you all love RP Lister as much as we do. :-)

We have pushed the app to App Store so it will pop out the other side of the Apple review process in a few days time (we hope) :-) .

Just for our RP Data Product Blog subscribers, below is  an exclusive preview…..
Here are a few screen shots of the rp.lister app in action in “presentation mode” to whet your appetite. :-)

Many Thanks,
Lee :-)

    What about Android?

    • Lee Wade June 20, 2011 at 3:01 pm #

      Hi Luke,

      Good question.

I don’t have firm dates I can give out yet. However I can say we are definitely wanting to have rp.mobile pro re-released as a ‘Web App” for all mobile devices (not just Android) by the end of this year. That way, you can be an Apple fan, Android Fan or even Windows Mobile fan and the application would just work.

      Regards,
      Lee:-)

    Hi Luke,

Why are development focused around iPAD/iphone not to may agents use them due to their incompatibility and lack of basic BUSINESS features such as USB slot or flash support. Yes they are fun for playing games ect but agents need a working phone that is compatible not crap that makes us think we are cool :)

    • Lee Wade June 27, 2011 at 2:38 pm #

      Hi Jay,

The dominant mobile phone handset used by agents is the iPhone. We have surveyed our customer base twice on this topic over the past year, just to ensure we are building applications for the dominant handset device used by our customers. The overwhelming response to both surveys was iPhone with about 40% penetration amongst the real estate agent community. (The remaining 60% being very fragmented).

Also, as it stands right here today, Apple definitely owns the tablet market with the iPad. Hence us just releasing our new pre listings application for iPad, rp.lister. But that could quickly change.

As per my earlier reply to Luke, we keep a very close eye on mobile trends as this space is shifting extremelyquickly. Android for example is “the fastest growing” operating system as handset manufacturers adopt it as their operating system, but it is slower taking off in the tablet space. Hence, why as I mentioned, we are keeping an open mind and are keen to convert our development methodology to building “Web Apps” which work on many more devices. Then may the best device / mobile operating system win. But in the meantime, we’re catering for as many combinations as we can.

RP Mobile Pro will be RP Data’s first app ported to the “Web App” platform later this year which will mean a lot more handset combinations can utilise this great agent tool.

      Thanks,
      Lee :-)

    Hi Lee,

Is Rp Lister available yet and if so how do we get it??

    • Lee Wade June 29, 2011 at 8:57 am #

      Hi Vic,

Yes it’s available in App Store.

      From your ipad:

      - Search for “RP Data” or ‘RP Lister”
      - Install the “RP Lister” app

Thanks for your question. Looks like I had better get another post up today :-)

      Thanks,

    Hi Lee,

One of the agents at my company has downloaded the app to his ipad, however can’t seem to load his profile photo. The photos are loaded onto the ipad, but when he selects ‘profile photo’ he gets a message saying that there are no saved photos and too upload the images using itunes.

We’ve tried everything and there are not tips in the help function!

    Any ideas?

    • Lee Wade June 29, 2011 at 7:00 pm #

      Hi Philippa,

I think I have have repsonded to your agent earlier to day by email.

The easiest way to confirm is to conduct a little experiment…
      - With your ipad, open the Safari web browser.
      - Navigate to your corporate web site.
      - Hold your finger on your corporate logo for a couple of seconds.
      - A Save menu will now appear.
      - Choose to Save the photo to your album.
      - Now go back to RP Lister.
      - Select Agent Profile / Edit Agent Profile
      - Select Agency Logo
      - The ‘Saved Photos’ bubble will appear.
      - The logo you just saved will definitely be in the list of images as you just added it direct to your album.

If my experiment works, then I suspect you may have a synch config issue between the images in iTunes and your iPad.

Unfortunately, I cannot diagnose the settings within your peronsal itunes account. But I will try and replicate your experience tonight on my home PC.

If you need additional assistance, please contact our support team on 1300 734 318. RP Lister is new to them too, but they have been trained and are keen to begin assisting customers with the app.

      Thanks,
      Lee :-)

This app is fantastic. And there is so much potential. Is there some way we can back it up? Will it integrate with cloud? You are sitting on a gold mine here.

    • Lee Wade July 7, 2011 at 7:59 am #

      Thanks Ashleigh,

      Very glad you like it.

Yes we have a roadmap of features still to come which are pretty exciting. Sending you a copy of the data collected is one of those features. I might bring it forward in the roadmap though so it’s available within the next few weeks.

      Lee :-)

Hey guys – fantastic app! I’ve recently purchased an ipad 2 just to use this for my presentations (yes I feel it’s that good).

I think it really performs well and I’m excited about it’s future development potential.

I’d be very interested in hearing other functions/features that future releases may have. Thanks for your hard work Lee.

    • Lee Wade July 13, 2011 at 9:47 am #

      Hi Mike,

Thanks for your kind words of support. We’re pretty proud of rp.lister too and rest assured it will only get better and better.

I’d love nothing more than to talk more about our roadmap, but unfortunately our competitors also read this blog site and send us nasty legal letters from time to time when they don’t like what they read.

{Which I honestly think is a crying shame. Engaging clients through social media shouldn’t be used as a corporate tactic}.

I’ll be able to speak more openly about new features and enhancements in the lead up to each major release.

      Thanks for understanding,
      Lee :-)

  7. Jay July 13, 2011 at 3:21 pm #

    HI Lee,

Is Rp Lister available to download to your computer ?

    regards

    Jay

    • Lee Wade July 14, 2011 at 10:06 am #

      Hi Jay,

As always we’re happy to consider it based on customer demand. But currently it is not on the radar.
Our client research showed that agents found the whole laptop boot / wakeup + browser issues + Internet access process cumbersome in front of a customer and it lead to a stilted conversation. It’s why we went the tablet path in the first place.

      Regards,
      Lee :-)

  8. Jay July 15, 2011 at 9:12 am #

    Hi Lee,

So the only way i can even get to try this app is to go and buy an ipad ???

    Regards
    Jay

    • Lee Wade July 15, 2011 at 10:59 am #

      Hi Jay,

      Correct. It’s an ipad app.

      Lee :-)

  9. Mike @ PPS July 15, 2011 at 11:04 am #

Jay, it’d be worthwhile buying an ipad just for this app alone.

It will help you with your listing presentations (and securing good listings and selling property will make you money)

One of my mentor’s once told me that “it takes money to make money” :)

You can buy an ipad 2 really cheaply (even if it’s the wifi only model) and pair it up with a wifi hotspot device (like vodafone, optus, telstra has) or if you have an iphone 4 you can use the wifi hotspot feature when you’re out and about.

Having an iphone 4, I didn’t see a need for any of the 3G+wifi models.

    Hi Lee,
Really hoping you are about to release this as a blackberry app!!
Please tell me it is due next week!!!
    Please…
    Stu.

    • Lee Wade August 15, 2011 at 3:14 pm #

      Hi Stu,

Not presently. That will depend on customer requests.
As previously mentioned, RP Lister is currently built for iPad. It is a Tablet application, not a Phone application.

This is because Apple’s iPad currently has a very strong lead in terms of marketshare.

I presume you are referring to the Blackberry Playbook which is an extremely new addition to the tablet market.

We’re keeping a very close eye on this space to see which competing tablets may or may not affect Apple’s dominance. Also we’re collating customer feedback (you are the first request for Blackberry). :-)

      We’re watching:
      – Blackberry Playbook
      – Motorola Xoom
      – HP Touchpad (Web OS)
      – Android Honeycomb
      – Various unbranded Windows tablets

      Regards,
      Lee :-)

      • Stu August 18, 2011 at 10:08 am #

        Thanks Lee.
Yes I should have explained myself a little better.
I have been gifted a Blackberry Playbook and was hoping there would be a few real estate applications for me to use, but it seems they are all US user friendly!
I will keep my eye on any further updates.
        Regards,
        Stu.
